It's Easy to Feel Jealous



I was struck with my facebook friend's status on why Trust is just too hard to give while jealousy is too easy to feel. It does makes sense. It is hard to give our trust again and we prevent ourselves from doing so but we allow ourselves to feel jealousy.

According to answers.com, jealousy is an emotion, a negative thought or feelings of insecurity, fear, and anxiety over an anticipated loss of something that the person values, such as a relationship, friendship, or love. Is it healthy or not? Is there a right moment to feel jealous?

Most often, this emotion is a silent killer in every relationship. We dwell on this negative feeling and allow ourselves to do silly things associated with this thought that we regret later on. It's irritating and painful to be jealous (especially if you suppress it) or be the recipient of it.

And I think if there is assurance and security in a relationship, it helps one to avoid feeling jealous.

You're right... jealousy sucks! It feels awful and ends up ruining everything. But it's something that takes a lot of work to get past/control and I sometimes wonder how one can beat it! Then again, there's the whole scenario of when your significant other never gets jealous and you wonder if they even care!

A person can be suffer from jealousy/insecurity for many reasons.


Many times ones childhood has suffered traumas which has severely destroyed their self-love and self-esteem. With those destroyed one cannot be confident nor can they love themselves. Hence creating jealous and insecure emotions. This will affect a relationship of any type. If one cannot love themselves they will never find trust or love in another.

Its easy to feel jealous especially if you don't trust the person you love. But in a relationship its healthy to feel jealous sometimes knowing that someone is afraid to lose you but it should not be as always. :) Learn to balance.
